Shea Butter womens co-operative in Burkina

The wild Shea nut tree grows exclusively in the savannahs of the Sahel region of northern Africa, located between Senegal and the Sudan. The origin of our Shea butter is Burkina Faso. The Shea tree produces its first fruit when it is about 20 years old and reaches full production at the age of 40 - 50. Shea butter is obtained from the seeds of the karité nuts.

Our crude Shea butter directly from the cooperatives in the village of Burkina. The crude Shea butter is physically refined without using solvents (chemical refining), which would destroy all the vitamins. The refined Shea butter does not contain any additives.

Organic and unrefined Shea Butter, super high in Vitamins and uniquely Vitamin F

Organic, unrefined Shea Butter is normally used directly on the skin instead of inclusion in formulations, due to the presence of impurities. Unrefined Shea Butter works very well on dry hair.

The Rich Rewards of Unrefined Shea Butter

Shea butter, a skin superfood sourced from the seeds of the fruit of the Shea (Karite) tree, is revered not only for its rich consistency but also for its nutrient-packed composition that can rejuvenate and moisturise the skin and hair. Its unrefined form, especially, is a treasure trove of natural benefits. Here are some of the ways unrefined Shea butter can enhance your beauty routine:

High in Vitamin F

Unrefined Shea butter is high in Vitamin F (also known as fatty acids), which plays a crucial role in maintaining skin elasticity and hydration. It can help balance your skin's natural oil production, making it a perfect component for every person who desires soft and supple skin.

Packed with Antioxidants

The antioxidants present in unrefined Shea butter, including vitamins A and E, protect the skin cells from free radicals that can lead to premature ageing and dull skin. These vitamins also have anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce redness and swelling.

A Moisture Miracle for Skin

Shea butter is most celebrated for its moisturising properties. It absorbs rapidly into the skin, providing a long-lasting barrier of moisture that doesn't feel greasy. It’s ideal for tackling dry skin patches, offering gentle hydration and soothing irritated skin without clogging pores.

Tames Dry and Frizzy Hair

For those with thick, curly, or frizz-prone hair, unrefined Shea butter can be a game-changer. The natural emollients smooth out dry, frizzy strands, providing a natural way to tame unruly hair and make it more manageable, while intensely conditioning the scalp and hair.

The Base for Beautiful Balms

Crafting your skincare products can be greatly rewarding, and unrefined Shea butter with its versatile and easily absorbable texture serves as an impeccable base for balms. Whether it's for the lips, elbows or heels, Shea butter can be combined with a variety of essential oils and other natural ingredients to create custom balms that cater to specific skin needs.

Unrefined Shea butter is a time-honoured beauty staple for men and women of all ages. Shea butter offers natural, nourishing solutions. It's an essential ingredient that supports healthy, radiant skin and hair, aligning perfectly with the beauty regimen of today's modern lifestyle.
