Sesame Oil

Sesame is a flowering plant in the genus Sesamum. It is a wild and natural plant of tropical regions and the around the world it is cultivated for the edible seeds which grow in pods.

It is an annual plant which grows 50 to 100cm in height. The flowers are white to purple and tubular in shape.

Suitability

Sesame is suitable for all skin types and works well in body-care products and massage oil, where the lightweight oil easily spreads across the skin, forming a light barrier which locks in moisture without giving a greasy feeling to the skin.

Sesame seed oil has the added benefit of having a natural SPF of 4. Blend with other oils in massage and cream blends for maximum benefit.
