Dill Seed Essential Oil

Similar in appearance to Fennel, but lower in height, Dill Seed has feathery leaves and is said to originate from India. It has clusters of small yellow flowers with compressed fruits inside. The seed yields the oil through distillation.

Common Uses of Dill Seed Essential Oil

Dill is naturally antifungal and antibacterial. Used carefully it is effective at dealing with "breakouts" on the face. A low dose of Dill should always be used as it is easy to cause skin irritation.

Studies have found beneficial effects of Dill on the mind. A study (link to study) found concluded that "Although phytoestrogens are not steroids, the beneficial effect of dill on memory, at least in part, may have been achieved by estrogenic receptors present in the brain. Thus dill essence could be promising in improving memory and cognition, mainly in postmenopausal women.~
