Cetyl alcohol
Cetyl alcohol helps thicken and add texture to cosmetic products, such as creams and lotions where it increases thickness, emulsifies and improves both feel and application.
Cetyl alcohol
Derived from Coconut, Cetyl alcohol is a must for all cosmetic use. Originally discovered in 1817, the waxy substance is an emollient, emulsifier and thickening agent. Cetyl alcohol is soothing for the skin and is one of the most non toxic skincare ingredients available.Characteristics
Cetyl alcohol helps thicken and add texture to cosmetic products, such as creams and lotions where it increases thickness, emulsifies and improves both feel and application. When used in shampoo and conditioner it adds to its moisturisation and enhances viscosity, whilst adding foam production.
The myth about alcohol in cosmetics
The word alcohol, when used in relation to the ingredients in cosmetic chemistry is different to the fermented alcohol you find in beverages and shouldn't be confused, therefore it is fine for use in products used by Muslims that wish to avoid alcohol and not the alcohol meant in religion.
