Lavender Volunteering Summer 2020

Lavender Planting

We would love you to help us create a beautiful Lavender field, meet new people (socially distanced) whilst enjoying nature and fresh air

Weeding, Planting, Mowing and Strimming

All Ages, All Fitness Levels we are a community

Our Mission

To create a haven of peace and tranquillity accessible to all on the fringes of London

At our Little Woodcote Estate Farm we are busily planting Lavender plants for the future. We have already planted 100,000 plants across our 2 farms, but now we are planting an additional 20,000. Our plan is to open our field to the public, where all can enjoy the beautiful peace and tranquility. There will be no entrance charge and all that visit us will be free to roam and enjoy our field. We actively encourage you to leave the car at home and walk or cycle to us, depending upon the distance you are travelling, so all can enjoy the peace and tranquillity without cars and pollution.

But we really need your help!

We need help weeding, planting, watering and general help on the farm

We are a family run business and we have family members and friends helping at the farm, but we could really get things moving with a little more help! We would like to be able to open this Summer, to create a retreat for people come and enjoy.

Keeping Safe, Social Distancing

We are the perfect place to find some time in nature, volunteer, be sociable, whilst maintaining social distancing

Over our 25 acres of farm, there is no need for any of us to be too close to one another, we can effectively keep apart much more than 2 meters. The tranquillity of the farm means you can still share a conversation with someone else, whilst staying well away from each other.

There is a list of tasks that need to be done at the farm and plenty of hand sanitiser and gloves to keep us all safe. We ask you bring your own drinks and food to avoid sharing of cups, mugs and appliances. We have a toilet on-site that is kept disinfected and plenty of antibacterial products to give everything a wipe over before you use them.

The volunteers we have range from 20 to 65 and it is a perfect opportunity to get out and enjoy fresh air, nature and some social interaction.

We do ask you try to come by foot or cycle to maintain the tranquillity in the local area, but we do have plenty of parking on site.

Where is our field located?

Our field is located in Wallington, on the fringes of London with easy access to trains and buses as well as on Sustrans Route 20 for all keen cyclists and walkers

A short walk away from Wallington Train Station or the nearby 127 and 154 bus stop, our field is easy to get to from London on the South. We are located on a National Cycle Route (Sustrans 20) https://www.sustrans.org.uk/find-a-route-on-the-national-cycle-network/route-20/ which is a beautiful way to get to us, linking London in the North and Brighton in the South, celebrating the industrial heritage of the River Wandle along the way.
