Virginian Cedarwood, also known as Red Cedar, is a slow-growing evergreen tree that grows in the east of America and southeast Canada.
It is not classed as a true 'cedar' as it belongs to the Cupressaceae family and not the Pinaceae family to which Atlas Cedarwood belongs.
Cedarwood Virginiana is the ethical choice for Cedarwood, as it is one of the most abundant and quickly grown trees that isn't endangered. The production of the essential oil does not require the felling of the tree.
Cedarwood has a dry masculine woody scent with sweet undertones.
A calming oil, Virginian Cedarwood brings a sense of peace and lets you immerse happily into your thoughts. The ideal oil for meditation.
Skin
Like other Cedars, it is good at clarifying the skin and especially useful on oily skin types. Useful for blends created for acene, oily skin, dandruff, and dermatitis.
Mind
Blend with other oils to create a calming meditation fragrance. It blends exceptionally well with Spike Lavender. Together they can help relieve nervous tension and anxiety.
Body
Use in muscle rubs to bring tension relief.
Aroma
Cedarwood viriginiana can be helpful in an oil burner for stress and anxiety. It is a valuable oil to burn when increased concentration is required, and a blend with Bergamot and Rosemary is beneficial to heighten concentration.
As with all essential oils, we advise you avoid Cedarwood Virginia during pregnancy.
