Aromatherapy Poultice for Colds and a Day in Bed
The ideal way to use aromatherapy for a sick loved one, effective, calming and reassuring
An Aromatherapy poultice is a reassuring way to help a loved one through a time of sickness. A warmed cloth or flannel infused with Aromatherapy oils is placed on the area of pain for your loved one, bringing relief, warmth and therapeutic effects of the aromatherapy oils.
Preparation of the Poultice
Using a Saucepan (preferably one with quite a large neck) add 100ml of water alongside 10 drops of essential oil.
Cover the Saucepan and bring to the boil.
Wearing rubber gloves for protection from the heat, lay a cloth or flannel over the surface of the water to absorb the oil. Squeeze out any excess water and place over the affected area of your loved one.
Always ensure that the poultice isn't too hot before applying to the skin.
